Mí nombre es Daniel
Cáliz y pertenezco a la Arquidiócesis de Atlanta (a la Parroquia San José {St. Joseph Catholic Church} @ Dalton, GA, USA) en la cuál hace varios años contamos con
su valiosa presencia en el Congreso Eucarístico.
Este su servidor por la compromiso y llamado bautismal
tuvo la oportunidad y bendición de
entrevistarlo (aunque con mucho tartamudear y nerviosismo) a usted en dicho
congreso. Allí usted me dijo una palabras que todavía sigo reflexionando y meditando en ellas. Usted me indicó: “que a los hispanos (o latinos) nos toca ahora a
evangelizar a los anglos”.
Quisiera traer a colación una situación que está
sucediendo en su arquidiócesis. Que distintas razones las cuales no están muy claras en
su arquidiócesis no se le ha permitido a
predicar a unos sacerdotes que vienen de afuera. Estos en el pasado ha ido a distintas
parroquias de LA a predicar que presentando sus credenciales no han tenido ningún problema para ministerial dentro de la Arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles.
Entre los presbíteros que no se
les está permitiendo predicar están los siguientes:
P Luis Toro (quién es misionero de la misericordia;
https://escueladebiblia.com), P. Dirk Kranz (a.k.a. Padre Teodoro,
https://www.facebook.com/pg/PadreTeodoro/about/), P Sam (pertenece a la Arquidiócesis de Tegucigalpa, en Honduras;
https://www.padresam.com).
Yo que soy teólogo (7 años en el seminario, cinco con los Dominicos y dos con los
Salesianos) que llevo más de dos años escuchando estos tres sacerdotes y nunca he escuchado
nada de ellos, que, ni al menos una milésima de segundo que sugiera e implique una posible herejía. Ni mucho menos
escuchar alguna mención de estar en contra de alguna
enseñanza de la Iglesia.
Esta decisión fue tomada por
un laico que han identificado cómo el Sr. Louis Velásquez. Han
sugeridos algunos hermanos que esta decisión posiblemente los obispos y el Arzobispo José Horacio Gómez no saben de
esta situación.
Aunque yo con toda sinceridad espero que esta fecha ya conozcan de este problema.
Según informaba el
hermano Thalio (según su canal de YouTube) indicaba
que el Sr. Velásquez dijo que los sacerdotes que
vinieran a la arquidiócesis no podía hablar mal o en contra de los evangélicos además que tampoco
pueden hablar mal o en contra de los homosexuales. Ni mucho menos que hablen o prediquen que el
homosexualismo es inmoral y pecaminoso.
Como me dijo usted (en una entrevista): "Que los
hispanos (o latinos) ahora tienen que evangelizar a los anglos". Cómo usted seguramente sabe, "no podemos dar lo que no
tenemos". Es por esa razón que los
hispanos para "adquirir lo que no tenemos" necesitamos sacerdotes
hispanos que nos puedan evangelizar y capacitarnos en la fe católica desde nuestro propios contextos histórico-cultural. Entonces, para que un día ya “tengamos lo que no teníamos” para evangelizar a los anglos. Aunque, inicialmente sea de nuestro propio
testimonio de la vida cristiana.
Yo de todo corazón me uno en la oración fraterna y solidaria para que esta situación de la Arquidiócesis
de Los Ángeles, California EEUU se pueda resolver pronto.

I hope in
Christ Jesus and Mary Most Holy that you and all your parishioners in the
Archdiocese of Los Angeles are very well but above all very blessed. My name is
Daniel Cáliz and I belong to the Archdiocese of Atlanta (Iglesia Católica de
San José {St. Joseph Catholic Church} @ Dalton, GA, USA) few years ago we have
your valuable presence in the Atlanta Eucharistic Congress.

I had the opportunity and blessing to interview you (although with a lot of
stuttering and nervousness) at that congress. There you told me a words that I am
still reflecting and meditate on those words. You told me: “That the Hispanics (or Latinos)
have the duty to evangelize the Anglos.”
I would like to bring up a situation that is
happening in your archdiocese. For
different reasons which are not very clear in your archdiocese some priests
(Hispanic priests) has not been allowed to preach these priest do not belong to
your archdiocese. These in the past have
been in different occasions in LA parishes to preach. These had presented their credentials with no
problem to ministerial within the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
Among the priests who are not being allowed to preach are the following: Fr. Luis Toro (who is a missionary of mercy; https://escueladebiblia.com), Fr. Dirk Kranz (a.k.a. Padre Teodoro, https://www.facebook.com/pg/PadreTeodoro/about/), Fr. Sam (belongs to the Archdiocese of Tegucigalpa, in Honduras; https://www.padresam.com).
I am a theologian (with 7 years in a seminaries
five with the Dominicans and two with the Salesians) who have been listening to
these three priests for more than two years.
I never heard anything from them, that at least suggests a “thousandth of a second” that may imply a any possible heresy. Not to mention, I do not
hear any allusion of them to be against any teaching of the Church.
This decision was made by a layman who has been
identified as Mr. Louis Velasquez. Some brothers have suggested that this
decision possibly is unknown by the bishops and the Archbishop José Horacio
Gómez do not know I do not know it this situation is as mentioned. Although I sincerely hope that by this day,
you (and your fraternal bishops) already know about this problem.
According to brother Thalio (that he indicated in
his YouTube channel {named Thalio}), he indicated that Mr. Velasquez said that
the priests who want to come to the archdiocese could not speak badly or
against evangelicals, and that they cannot speak badly or against homosexuals either. Not to mention, that they cannot speak or
preach that the homosexuality is immoral and sinful.
As you told me (in an interview): “That the
Hispanics (or Latinos) now have to evangelize the Anglos.” As you for sure know “we cannot give what we
don’t have”. It is for this reason that Hispanics to “acquire what we do not have” we need Hispanic priests who can evangelize us and train us in the Catholic faith from our own historical-cultural contexts. So, one day we already had what
we did not have to evangelize the Anglo. Although, initially could be from our
own testimony of Christian life.
I wholeheartedly, I join in fraternal and solidarity prayer so this situation of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, California USA can be resolved soon.
